Why every factory asks for its own format
Factories build from the layout they already know. A spec that arrives in a strange shape gets retyped on their side and that is where numbers drift.
Artifax exports the pack in the template that vendor already works from. The numbers stay the ones you approved.
One style, several vendor templates
There is one version of the style. You export it in the first vendor's template. When another factory needs the same style you export again in theirs. Edit the style once and each export carries the same numbers in the layout that factory already uses.
What we need to set up a vendor template
Setting up a vendor template starts with one sample tech pack in that vendor's format as a PDF. The sample shows the layout the factory already reads. You do this for each vendor you export for.
Keeping every factory on the same version after a fit comment
A fit comment changes the style once. You export again for each factory that is making it. Every factory gets the same measurements in the layout it already uses.
Fit comments and sample rounds are covered in samples and fit reviews.
What the factory receives
The factory receives a tech pack in its own template. Measurements and construction notes and the bill of materials sit where that template already expects them. Your team can still edit any field before you send it.
Editable tech packs describes that editing.
