Why colorways get expensive
Every additional colorway is another set of approvals, another swatch to check and another line in the bill of materials. The cost is rarely the design work — it is the drift between what was signed off, what reached the factory and what came back.
Keeping colour as structured data rather than a note in a file is what stops that drift.
See it before you commit
Colour reads differently on a flat sketch than on a garment. Photogenix shows how any pattern or fabric reads across the full product, so a colorway can be judged on the finished shape rather than a swatch square.
The same source assets produce ghost mannequin shots, flats and on-model imagery, which means a colorway approved in design is the one that appears on the product page.
Carried into production
Artifax generates production-ready tech packs that include colorway-specific instructions, in the format vendors already use. The colour decisions made during design arrive at the factory as specifications, not as an email thread.
